This makes me think of Plato's "The Allegory of the Cave"; you can't believe in the five senses. They could prove to be wrong.
But well, if we can tap our feet and feel it, then it should be an evidence for the physical reality in some sort of way. Also I guess Plato rather means that the physical reality isn't exactly like we think it is, but it does exist.
Samurai - Haha, the tapping reassures me that I am still on this (maybe a figment of my imagination) earth.
Disturbed - :)
Honour - As long as you don't accidentally do any bodily harm to yourself (or others) while trying to reassure yourself of existence, it's all good, lol.
Pixie - I don't want to be slapped! Lol.
Jenny - I agree with you. Plato makes a good point...there's always that possibility that everything is just a shadow.

Precisely!
But now, what about the tapping of your foot tells you you still exist?
I feel you girl
even then, I still don't feel like I'm quite here. Sometimes I have to pinch myself :)
Pinch someone else - if they slap you and it hurts that's probably the best evidence you exist you can get.
LOL. Yeah - that's a good idea. I'll do that. And then when the person asks me why I pinched them, I'll say - "to make sure I exist!"
