The lightning, the thunder, the immense amount of rain.....aah, all of it is so wonderful. Thunderstorms are even BETTER when they are at night. I'm not sure why. They just are.
Truthfully, I should be writing a 5 page paper (double-spaced) on Mary Shelley's "The Last Man" and Dickens' "Bleak House" right now...obviously, that's not happening. I love writing papers....but I hate starting a paper; the introduction is the toughest part of the paper for me, it marks the beginning of my stream of creativity (too bad the stream usually starts out as a small trickle).
So here I sit. Eating Quaker Oatmeal Squares (mmmm) and listening to the thunder.
Time to turn on the jazz music and get the stream flowin'.

It's the same for me with painting - i love having a go at painting/drawing, but often it's the actual getting started that causes problems.
My favourite author, Douglas Adams, was famous for procrastination and used to say that he loved the sound that deadlines made as they whizzed past
i am the queen of procrastination. I just skip the intro and start putting pieces of ideas onto the page, quotes I want to include etc. so it looks like i did work. And, I also used to put a cookie beside the computer screen as motivation. One bite per paragraph.
Pixie - Haha, I love that quote. I think a lot of authors enjoy that sound...
Honour - Hmm, I might try putting ideas down first, next time. Lol, the cookie thing is very smart. Instead of a cookie, I'd use a cup of coffee.
Yes, I procrastinate as well. But it isn't from wanting to do other things, it's because I'm tired and lazy and must fight these things constantly to get started.
I'm the same, I'm terrible at starting essays - but once I'm into it the words just flow - it's always that starting paragraph isn't it?
Storms are fantastic, although I will admit to being just as happy with really really heavy rain. I'm not sure why, it's just something I find relaxing to listen to/watch.
What Jazz music are you listening to?
I love when it rains in the late evening/early morning. I love the smell of the rain and grass... I even love the mist.
I am a huge procrastinator as well. I don't get serious about anything until in the very end. :/ And then I get pretty serious and don't sleep during the last nights.
I guess I am an adrenaline junkie.
Samurai - Haha, that's somewhat the same for me. Sometimes I create some "important" task to do just so I won't have to sit down and write my paper.....I need to get rid of that bad habit.
Dreamer - I was listening to Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, aaand Chet Baker. Miles is my favorite.
Disturbed - Rain gives me the sensation that the old has passed away and all things are new.
Jenny - Wooo, adrenaline! Even though it's a terrible habit, I always write the best papers when I am under lots of pressure.
I watch spongebob squarepants *waits for laughter to stop*
And there is this one episode where he has to write an essay on what NOT to do at a stop sign. He does everything under the sun so he wouldn't have to write the essay.
That would be me.
Disturbed - AH! I watch Spongebob Squarepants too! I love that show...so much. And I've seen that episode; it's a good one.
