The problem with thinking too much.

I always seem to come up with the greatest ideas for poems or for books while I am driving in the car. Now, this would not be an issue if I could simultaneously write and drive...but I am not that talented (or stupid).
So I usually end up losing the great idea by the time I pull into the driveway. This is due to the fact that I move through ideas quickly, without realizing it.
And that frustrates me greatly because, not only do I lose the idea, I can rarely retrieve the great idea. I usually just retrieve the semi-good idea or I retrieve some random idea about how to make my peanut butter and honey sandwich taste even better.

Mmm, peanut butter and honey sandwiches. Bet you didn't think peanut butter and honey would be FANTASTIC together. Well, they are quite a pair.

I had a peanut butter and honey sandwich when I was a kid. My moms ex made it for me. That and after mixing pb and syrup, made a pb and syrup sandwich. I couldnt fathom eating it now.. *shivers* .. too sweet.

While at work, I chit chat with some customers and I always tell myself, I should touch on that in a blog or something. Then the rest of the night goes by where (between me wanting to kill a co-worker) I lose it. Not the same as thinking up a great poem, but I feel you.

Sometimes writers carry small notepads and pens with them wherever they go. I suppose you could jot down the idea at a stop light, or if you're on an empty street, just stop on the side really quick and write it.

I write my ideas down no matter what. If I come with something great to write about while I'm in the middle of performing heart surgery, I write it! On the other hand, I usually don't forget my ideas.

I don't know what's going on. You guys are mixing your peanut butter with honey and syrup. My other two friends put Doritos in between the pb and jelly. A co-worker puts fried banana with his pb. Am I the only traditional sandwich eater left?

I usually come up with my greatest ideas, when I'm too busy doing something else, especially when I'm trying to sleep (and then I give that up and hurry for a pen and a note book). It's easy for me to forget my ideas. Also they don't always sound as good later when I try to retrieve them. That sucks. :/

Mmm, interesting combination; honey and peaunut butter. I have never tried that one though. Wow, what a brilliant idea. :)

Disturbed - Thank for NOT following through on that desire to kill a co-worker. That could only end in bloody disaster. Haha.
And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person who has had the deliciousness that is PEANUT BUTTER AND HONEY.

Samurai - The notepad idea is a very good one. I think I might go buy one tomorrow.
Do not criticize the peanut butter and honey combo until you try it, sir.

Jenny - I suffer from thinking when trying to sleep, as well. But I usually just think myself to sleep rather then writing down my ideas. Perhaps I should write myself to sleep...
Let me know when you try a peanut butter and honey sandwich. I want to know what you think :D

The only problem with carrying small notepads and pens is you can guarantee that the one time you leave the house without it is the time you have the best idea. I carried a notepad for 1year - no ideas. The moment i left it behind - loads of ideas.

Ideas are like lightning floating around waiting to hit the right person - this is why there are so many surprised looking cows in fields - they just got hit by an idea for Quantum Physics and are wishing they had opposable digits with which to express it.

Most mobile phones have voice recorders, so when i'm walking i will talk or sing my idea into my phone and pretend i'm talking to someone.

Peanut butter tastes best on toast.

I do the same with ideas for short stories. I have known someone who's had a small dictaphone for moments like that. Just a cheap little one that goes on their keyring or something. I might look at getting myself one...

Although I can just see myself walking down the street, coming up with an idea, mumbling it into my dictaphone, and getting the reputation of the scary girl who mumbles to herself whilst walking.

Eugh, I really don't understand how people can have Peanut Butter and Jelly (I'm assuming that's Jam, and not the stuff you have with ice cream which I think you call Jello?) in a sandwich! It just seems so disgusting to me. But then I have heard that our peanut butter is different to yours...
