Artistic endeavors.

In response to Pixie's latest post:

“The whole difference between construction and creation is exactly this: that a thing constructed can only be loved after it is constructed; but a thing created is loved before it exists.” - Charles Dickens

(In the art world) This, to me, is what separates those who sit, stiffly, inside of the box and those who have been daring enough to step outside of it.

I recently finished Tale of Two Cities, I love Dickens. There are times when I feel things are so clearly put that I really can't add to them because it is so spot on. This is one of them.

That's a really nice quote. I was editing something I wrote at the same time a building was being built in my neighborhood and I liked to think about the difference between the two things--building a story and building a building. I think it really does come down to what Dickens said.
